The Word of Truth Ministries

Hypocritical when I criticize other ministers?

A reader writes:

Why condemn someone in your article when you’re no better? You two are rich and have a website and bookstore like they do. They don’t help people in need with money and neither do you. Shouldn’t you cast the log out of your own eye first before trying to look at someone else. You probably won’t answer this.

My response:

First, I received your e-mail, and, as you can see, I am answering you. I answer all e-mails and questions put to me; right now I am in discussions with two ministers--one in the southern part of the USA and another in Russia. This is one of the things I am called to do, if I am going to prepare the way of the Lord and make his path straight so those who want to run to him may run well.

Second, you know absolutely nothing about what I do or don't do, and to rest on your assumptions as truth is flawed and may even be dangerous because assumptions tend to limit the scope of a person's investigation for truth. Your comparison of this ministry with the Dollar and the Copeland ministries because I have a web bookstore to sell books and  then concluding that such a fact makes me the same as other ministries needs much rethinking. There is absolutely nothing sinister, adverse, negative, or untoward about selling books that I or this ministry had to pay to have printed. Were these books given freely, I would give them freely to others. Furthermore, I give to some away to people who cannot afford them, but to recoup our expenses and attempt to raise sufficient money to give them to others and continue the process is wise business, not some sinister action.

Furthermore, because we have a web bookstore much like many of the false prophets, that does not make us like them; we also breathe air and drink water; does that mundane truth make me sinister? You, of course, have never looked into any book that we have published and compared it to books they have published.  Had you, you would have seen the undeniable difference.

You know nothing of the quality and great truth of God in our books; were you apprised of the wisdom of God therein, as opposed to the weak and flawed teachings found in Dollars and Copeland's books, you would wilt in shame for your assertions. But while you speak demeaningly of this ministry, as if you had read one of our books and compared it to one of their books, a logical analysis would dictate that you at least read our books before you proffer the assertions sameness that you have offered.

These ministers and I are in different worlds. Telling who is a minister of God and who isn’t by unsaved people is the same conundrum the people of Jeremiah’s day found themselves in. The prophets were prophesying lies, the priests were ruling by their own means and the people loved to have it so. [Jer. 5] But Jeremiah cried out, believe not the prophecies they have caused themselves to dream. They are not God’s ministers; they are thieves and robbers who make merchandise of the people of God. Nowhere in this ministry do I ask for money or help; I am here as a helper, as a giver; not a taker! I ask of God, and he touches the hearts of other to help this ministry; I personally need no help—God has already done that for me.

Your method of analyzing the quality, distinction, and worthiness of this ministry from other ministers is flawed. To evaluate a ministry, look at the gospel that is preached first and foremost--is it flawed and contrary to the careful and well studied analysis of scriptures? Then look at the lives lived, as much as can be gleaned from a ministry--does a minister's life comport with the gospel of Christ? That paradigm is a surer foundation as a bible method of distinguishing and proving a ministry and a minister. You have done none of that!

The ministry God has given me is tilted toward rooting out, tearing down, and exposing hypocrisy that not only you, but I, too, have seen in the church. And this ministry does that through a careful and studied analysis of the word of God and its application. God has raised up this ministry, and I am sure a number of other ministers, to call out sin where it is; for too long lying ministers, thieves and robbers who were never called of God and who have deceived many, have simply not been identified, called out and labeled for what they are. And they have used every trick in Satan's magazine to linger in sin and not be called out. But judgment has begun, as Peter said, at the house of God! Hence, we are now identifying them and it causes a stirring and a friction.

Judgment of this sort is not backbiting; judgment is simply identifying sin from the porch to the alter. For we are judging according to the word of God, as the scriptures certainly allows. Read Matthew 7, carefully. If a lying minister, be he your pet minister or any other minister, is in the range of God's word, the word will expose him.

Of course, ungodly men in the ministry, and there are many, will attempt to employ the biting and devouring scripture and judge not that you be not judge to ward off God's ministers who believe in truth. But those ungodly men misapply scripture, and as a minister of God, I will allow no room for such misapplication of God's word.

Indeed, Paul said, "If you bite and devour one another, take heed lest you be consumed one of another." Now this is a perfectly good scripture when properly applied. Yet this is a way of deceptive that slight-of- hand ministers, and many satanic ministers who were never called of God or sent by God use to mesmerize weakened saints and try to stop those brazen in God who are as bold as a lion in their preaching of truth.

Finally, Paul said to preach the word--not money or worldly possessions—to be instant in season and out of season, REPROVE, REBUKE, REFUTE, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine; for the time will come (I submit it is here) when they will not endure SOUND doctrine, but after their lust shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn them unto fables. I am here to ward off such fables with the truth of God; for you shall know that truth and it, and it alone, will MAKE you free.

It is flawed and offensive to attempt to compare me with charlatans and dumb dogs, as the scripture calls them, who cannot bark; they are greedy, lazy dogs who love to slumber. Such categorizing indicates profound blindness, even as the dumb ass was more sighted than the prophet. I am called of God and preach the word of truth and refute all comers with that truth of God.
